Residential Services
The Residential program provides individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live independently in a safe and accessible environment without moving away from their friends and family. Those enrolled in the program can take advantage of benefits, such as frequent socialization with others, participation in trips to local events, and monitoring of medical needs.
To be eligible for this program, individuals must be approved for funding through the Department of Human Services (DHS). Once enrolled, individuals may reside at our New Group Home or
one of two rental properties, both located in Kewanee, Illinois. Both facilities operated for the Residential Services program are licensed by DHS and have 24-hour supervision. This requires Abilities Plus to have a staff person present at all times when clients are in the home.
Residents have access to a number of recreational activities, both at the facility and in the community. In addition, the program allows staff members to assist residents in reaching their goals of independence. Staff members are available at all times to provide assistance and guidance, but residents are responsible for preparing some of their meals, doing laundry, and taking part in other household chores.
More Information If you would like more information about the Residential program, including information on the wait list, visit the Contact Us page and contact the Director of Community Support.
