Volunteers

Volunteers are the backbone of Abilities Plus.  Our agency was founded by volunteers, and they continue to be a large part of Abilities Plus today.  Volunteers are utilized in many areas of our agency.

Our Adult Day Programs use volunteers during lunch periods, as well as assisting during some classroom activities.

Children's Services volunteers assist with washing toys and helping during playgroups.

Dried Flower Wreaths - We also ask volunteers to arrange dried flower wreaths for families who have lost a loved one.  Our clients cut, dry and sort the flowers on the wreaths.

Hazel Pettit's Abilities Plus Resale Shop - Volunteers help sort donation, price merchandise, and assist customers with purchases during store hours.  (See the Resale Shop tab for more information about the Resale Shop).

Abilities Plus has provided a Special Olympic program for individuals with disabilities for many years.  Volunteers are key to this program.  Assistance is provided to athletes at practices working on developing skills for track and field competition at regional and state competitions.
