Support & Giving

Abilities Plus relies on the generosity of the community in order to provide quality programs and services.  We offer a variety of options in which to support our mission.

OPERATIONS

We depend heavily on donations that meet the expenses of day to day operations.  While grants and fees support many of our programs, they are seldom able to support 100 percent of the cost.

Our annual golf outing held the first Monday in August, as well as our Holiday Appeal are two avenues which are used to fund our operating expenses.

PLUS ONE LEGACY SOCIETY

The PLUS ONE Legacy Society members are dedicated to providing future generations with quality, continuous service for individuals with disabilities in Henry, Stark and western Bureau Counties though bequests, annuities, and other avenues of giving after they have passed.

Members of the Legacy Society enjoy benefits such as:

  • Recognition at the Carol Blake Center
  • Yearly invitations to the PLUS ONE Legacy Society induction meeting
  • The good feeling of knowing they have made a difference in the lives of others

ENDOWMENT

The Abilities Plus Endowment was created to provide support for programs and opportunities which enhance independence for people with disabilities.  The interest is used annually to fund projects that satisfy the agency's mission.  Funding is granted to projects inside the agency, as well as outside organizations that also support individuals with disabilities in our service area.

The Endowment also funds two $1,000 Jean German Academic Scholarships for students in our area who are pursuing a certificate or degree in a human service field of study.
